The Full-Time Team

Reverend David Russell - Minister

Rev David Russell My name is David Russell and I am employed by Northchurch Baptist Church as their minister.

I was brought up in Northchurch and went to the local schools, Westfield, Bridgewater and Ashlyns. I worked locally, in an office and a warehouse until I left the town to go to college.

During this time I became a Christian, I had begun attending the Methodist Church youth group, and I attended a mission run by the local churches called the Way In. After this I became fully involved with the local church life until I went to Cliff College near Sheffield.

After two years of college I was employed by a Methodist church in Hemel Hempstead where I stayed for 3 years, followed by a move to the Frome area of Somerset where I worked for another small Methodist church in a village. During this time I also began to work with Frome Community College as their Church Liaison Officer.

It was whilst I was in Frome that I met Michelle who was also at Cliff College, we married in 1993.

Following my time at Frome College, I came to Northchurch Baptist and was appointed as their youth worker. In 2001 I became their minister and attended Regents College in Oxford, studying the 'in Pastorate training course' (RIPT). I was ordained in 2003.

We now have 4 children, Olivia, Joel, Seth and Lily.
