Mission - Shepherd of the Hills Home

The Shepherd of the Hills Children's Home, Philippines

Our History

The work was started in 1976 by the late Rev. and Mrs. Jose Mejica.
A growing number of abandoned and neglected children living among the streets of Manila suffered unbearable conditions as a result of a protracted typhoon which hit the region.

Driven by the compassion in responding to their instantaneous needs, the couple took in as many children as they could to be cared for and to be provided with shelter in their small apartment.

As the burden grew, people from around the world came in to share a helping hand. This became the turning point for the dawning and shaping of a child ministry called Shepherd of the Hills Children’s Home and Rural Development Foundation, Inc.

Our Vision
